John A. "Buck" McLendon, Jr.

Buck McLendon, age 77, of Crestview, passed away Tuesday evening, March 19, 2019, in a Pensacola Hospital. Buck was born in DeFuniak Springs on September 29, 1941, to the late John McLendon, Sr. and Dorothy (Johnson) McLendon. and was a lifelong Crestview Resident. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, working in his yard, riding his golf cart and lawn mower. Buck loved to read, especially westerns and mysteries. Buck’s greatest love though was spending time with his family. Buck was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Frank McLendon. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Margaret McLendon; four children, Trey McLendon, Eric McLendon and his wife Michelle, Lacey Williamson and  her husband, Eron and Derek McLendon; and four grandchildren, Taylor Sheehy, Patrick McLendon, and Cameron and Gage Williamson. A time of visitation will be from 1:00 p.m to 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 3 pm Sunday at the funeral home, with Rev. Donnie Cadenhead officiating. Burial will follow at Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery in Crestview.
