John “Ezra” Nichols

Ezra Nichols, age 71, of Baker passed away on July 3, 2022, at Carrington Manor in Crestview. He was born on June 15, 1951, in Crestview, Florida to John and Daisy Nichols. He was a member of Garden City Baptist Church. He also led music for many years at Good Hope Baptist Church and Antioch Baptist Church. Ezra worked for Public Works in Fort Walton Beach for 30 plus years. He liked working on cars, especially classic and muscle cars, but most of all he loved his family.

Ezra is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ragenia Nichols, siblings, James Nichols, Lois Porter, Gail Odom, Clyde Nichols, Faye Carr, Glen Nichols and an infant son.

Ezra is survived by his son, Jared Nichols; daughter, Holly Tiley and husband Michael; brother, Levon Nichols; sister, Rettie Jean Sargent; and three grandchildren, Hunter Nichols and Christian and Esperanza Tiley.

A time of visitation with the family will be held on Saturday July 9, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. till 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Garden City. The celebration of Ezra’s life will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Dennis Robinson. Burial will follow in the Cotton Cemetery.
