John Phillip Edge

Phillip Edge, age 88, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021, at his home.  He was born on April 7, 1933, in Crestview, Florida to Aldon and Eliza Edge.  Phillip served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was on the USS Toledo. After the war he worked as Assistant Chief of Military Pay in Civil Service at Eglin Air Force Base and retired after thirty years. Phillip & his wife Mabel owned & operated Coney Island for 29 years. He loved to watch college football and loved going to church at Victorious Life. Most of all he loved his family, his grandkids & especially family gatherings. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mabel Edge, brother W.A. Edge, granddaughter Samantha Phillips and a great granddaughter April May,

Phillip is survived by his children: Dennis Edge, Mike Edge & his wife Karla, and Jeff Edge & his wife Pam; brother Bob Edge & his wife Gloria; grandchildren: Christina, Victoria, Jessica, Talia, Tatum, Anthony, & Kevin; also surviving are his 9 great grandchildren & 2 great great grandchildren and many many friends.

The celebration of Phillip’s life will be on Saturday October 2, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Victorious Life Worship Center. A time of visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 p.m.

Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.
