Joseph Charles (Jr) Roussell

Joseph Roussell was welcomed into heaven on Friday, June 16, 2023 at the age of 63. He was born in Marrero, Louisiana. He graduated from John Ehret High School then moved to Loranger, La where he married Rhonda Lester in 1984. Together they had one son.  He was also a father figure to five other children within the family. Joseph spent many years as a truck driver and enjoyed traveling. Him and his wife recently moved to Holt, Florida to be closer to their son and his family. He was previously a member of Cooper’s Chapel in Loranger, LA and was currently attending First Crestview in Crestview, FL where he enjoyed bible study groups and helping with the many activities the church hosted. He was a loving husband, supportive father, charismatic grandfather, and a true man of God.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Joseph C. Roussell Sr. and Rita Sears Roussell, and his niece Jessica Roussell.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Rhonda Roussell; sisters, Suzette Roussell and Gwen Roussell Evans; children, Christopher Roussell (Brittany), Mikey Sambola (Spring), Hanna Galuski (Brian), Jonathan Roussell, and Jeremy Roussell; grandchildren, Jaden Morris, Ainsley Morris, Blythe Sambola, Caroline Henderson, and Clayton Roussell, bonus grandchildren, Chase Joiner (Reilly), and Lexie & Quinn Galuski; niece, Nicole Fitzsimmons (Chris), nephew, Jeff Roussell; as well as many great nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 from 10:00am-12:00pm at Cooper’s Chapel United Methodist Church 19208 Neal Road Loranger, LA 70446. Funeral service will start  at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Joiner Cemetery on Wig Lane.

A basket will be set up at the visitation for cards of condolences and any monetary donations for funeral expenses.
