Patrick "Jr". Grant age 77 of Crestview went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday January 16, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Panama City on June 7, 1943 to Patrick A. and Sparta Grant. Jr graduated Crestview High School in 1961. He owned and operated Hartzog’s IGA with his family for 42 years. After retiring from the grocery business, he worked for many years with Helig Meyers and Ashley Furniture. His proudest accomplishment was working with his two sons at Rogers & Grant Septic and Johnny on the Spot. First and foremost, Jr loved Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. He was a charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and a Sunday School Director, and a Sunday School teacher. Jr loved the Lord, and he loved his church. He also loved his family, especially anything to do with his grandkids, Gracie, Davis, and Haley. Jr was preceded in death by his parents: Patrick A. Grant, Sr., Huey Hartzog and Sparta Hartzog; Uncle Buck and Aunt LaRea Collins and his mother-in-law and father-in-law Nolan and Lorene Swaney.
Jr is survived by his wife of 52 years Annette Grant, his sons: Shane Grant and his wife Kerri, and Linc Grant and his wife Deedra; brother Alvin Hartzog and his wife Randalla, and his sister Trina Hartzog, his sister-in-law Judy Rogers. The apple of his eye were his grandchildren: Gracie Grant, Davis Grant, and Haley Williamson. Also surviving are lifelong friends, Don and Janice Dew and numerous nieces, nephews, and his church family.
