Judy Gilmore Harges, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, in Navarre, FL. Born on March 7, 1958, in Crestview, FL to Dosia C. Gilmore and the late James C. Gilmore Sr. Judy was a beacon of warmth and kindness throughout her life.
Judy’s passion for customer service has shown brightly during her career in retail. She thrived on helping others and cherished the connections she made with customers and colleagues alike. Her infectious smile and genuine interest in people left an indelible mark on everyone who crossed her path.
Family was at the heart of Judy’s world. She is survived by her devoted husband of 37 years, Yancy Harges; daughters, Jennifer and Dana Reiling; loving grandchildren, Alante (Nikki), Kelsey (Michael), Angelica, Aletha, Adriel, and Joseph as well as two great-grandsons, Hudson and Houston; and brother, James Gilmore Jr. along with numerous extended family and friends. Each family member held a special place in her heart. She was prideful in their achievements, big or small and they will forever carry forward the love she instilled within them.
In addition to being a dedicated family woman who loved spending time with those closest to her, Judy also loved our Lord and Savior. She attended First Baptist Church of Navarre. Judy also had a passion for visiting the casinos where she found joy not just playing games but also relishing moments spent with friends amidst the excitement of chance.
A funeral service honoring Judy’s remarkable life will take place at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home on January 10th at noon following visitation starting at 11 am. Friends are invited to gather at Old Bethel Cemetery after the service for burial rites celebrating this extraordinary woman whose legacy of compassion continues to inspire all who knew her.
Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home is honored to serve the family during this time.
