June Freeman Ellis

Willie Mae (June) Freeman Ellis, age 70, of Holt, passed away, Sep 29, 2019 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Pensacola FL.  She was born December 11,1948 to William H. (Bill) and Vennia Freeman.  She loved gardening, taking care of her flowers and reading.  Her greatest joys were her children and grandchildren.

June was proceeded in death by her father, Bill Freeman, her mother, Vennia Wainwright Freeman and her brother, Billy Freeman.  

Survivors include her husband of twenty years, Garry Ellis; three children, Tammy Kennedy of Holt, Glen (Joyce) Kennedy of Crestview, Michael Riggleman of Holt; two step-daughters, Cheryl (Don) Aldred of Tucson AZ and Laurel (James) Grant of Bartlett TX; two grandsons, Andrew and Ayron Kennedy, as well as numerous step-grandchildren; June is also survived by one sister, Lois Alexander and her husband Ed of Panama City and two sisters-in-law, Fay (Marshall) Fuqua of Baker and Ollie (Ed) Freeman of Heflin AL.  Also, nephew Jason Freeman of Crestview and niece, Felicia Freeman of Baker.

A celebration on June’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 2pm in the chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Old Holt Cemetery.  A time of visitation with the family will be begin at 1pm.  Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst-Powell Funeral and Southern Heritage Crematory.  Guest book and condolences are available online at www.whitehurstpowellfuneralhome.com
