Katherine Irene “Kitty” Oglesby

Katherine Irene (Kitty) Boldry Oglesby flew away on Angel wings on Tuesday morning, October 4, 2022, with her family by her side. She was born in Peru, IN on August 17, 1941, to Walter L. and Roxalena (Stuber) Boldry. She was married to Douglas Thomas Oglesby for 62 wonderful years. She was predeceased by her son, Jeffery Douglas Oglesby, and brother Walter A. (Blackie) Boldry and her parents.

Kitty is survived by two sons- Leslie Nicholas Oglesby (Sherri), Joel Thomas Oglesby (Suzanne), one special friend Dennis Smith, daughter in law Gina Oglesby and numerous cousins. Grandchildren: Nicole Warf (James), Brittany Oglesby, TJ Oglesby (Shannon), Lindsey Dowdell (Brian), April Hogan (Sean), Jessie Neale (AJ), Shelby Taylor (Carson), Jake Oglesby (Kyra), Emily Brinn (Drew) and 15 great grandchildren and 1 expected in March.

Kitty was born and raised in Twelve Mile, IN and eventually moved to Choctaw Beach and finally settled in Blackman. She attended Bethlehem Methodist Church in Twelve Mile, IN. and never left the church. She was currently a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Laurel Hill. Kitty always put others before herself. She really loved her Lord and worked tirelessly for him. She graduated from Choctawhatchee High School in 1959 and was a member of the Choctaw band.

A memorial service will be on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 10:am at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Services officiated by Brother Halston Brooks and Brother Johnathan Shepherd.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to Ebenezer Baptist Church.
