Oliver Keith Cadle, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, lovingly known as “Poppy,” passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the age of 86. He was born July 11, 1938, in Sandstone, West Virginia to Elder Kenneth and Gladys “Patty” Cadle. Keith was very patriotic and extremely proud of his many years of service with the USAF as a C-130 aircraft mechanic at Duke Field. He loved traveling, watching football, and spending time with his family and friends.
Keith is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Christine Cadle, his parents, and his best friend Dennis Wirth. He is survived by his two daughters, Mindy Cadle Swihart and husband Kelly of Jasper, Alabama, and Melissa Cadle Ballard of Valparaiso; his brothers Jerry Cadle and wife Susie, and David Cadle and wife Shirley, both of Crestview; seven grandchildren, Arianne Huntsman, Samuel, Morgan, and Anna Swihart, Tavish Frederick, Kaitlyn and Jameson Ballard; and six great-grandchildren Azriel, Toby, Tristan, Aurora, Layla, and Olive.
A time of visitation will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. with service starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Alaqua United Methodist Church cemetery in DeFuniak Springs. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Palm Chapel Primitive Baptist Church in Crestview or any charity of your choosing in Keith’s memory.
