Laura McMahon Pitts

On October 9, 2025, Laura Pitts joined the angels in heaven. She was born to John & Doris McMahon on August 6, 1960, in Crestview, FL. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, James & Steve McMahon, and her parents-in-law, Jim & Ruth Pitts.

Laura leaves behind to cherish her memory, her devoted husband of 38 years, Duke Pitts, her beloved son, Curtis Pitts, her bonus siblings by marriage, Jane & Kelly Pitts, Rocky & Gloria Pitts, and Larry Pitts; her stepmother, Juanita Lewis, life-long friend, Frances Hannah Lopez, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Laura was a member of First Methodist Church in Crestview. She dedicated her life to Christ, and it was evident in the life she lived. She possessed a kind heart and a gentle soul. Her friends and family will always remember her childlike spirit.

When she looked through her glasses, Laura saw love for people in her eyes. She never met a stranger, and if she didn’t know you, that was about to change!

Laura’s hobbies included shopping, shopping, and more shopping. She was always searching for a bargain. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, eating out, playing cards, and board games. Laura believed in creating memories. She believed in living life to the fullest and enjoying those close to her.

While the family mourns Laura’s passing, they take comfort in knowing that Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can’t heal.
