Lewis Eustis Bowers, age 100, of Crestview passed away on Friday September 9, 2022. He was born in Crestview, Florida on April 21, 1922, to Lewis Edward Bowers and Margaret Jane McCallum. Lewis graduated Crestview High School in 1940. He served in the Army Air Corp in World War II, and Crestview City Council for two terms. Lewis was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Crestview. He loved riding motorcycles, NASCAR races, golfing, and fishing with his buddies at the river. Lewis owned Star Dry Cleaners for many years. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Nellie Hope Fleming Bowers.
Survivors include his son, Lewis Alton Bowers, and his wife, Boonroeng; grandchildren: Arnel Bowers, Christine Holley and her husband, Mark; step-grandchildren: Netnapa, Hathairat, and Thapani Sawaengsri; also surviving are his 2 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. at Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery. A time of visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, September 14, from 7-8 p.m. in the Chapel of Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home.
