Linda Patterson Broshear

Linda Ann Patterson Broshear was called Home on November 30th, 2022, after a heroic battle with cancer, thus joining her beloved parents, Johnie and Juanita Courtney.   Linda endured her ordeal with courage and dignity, with her husband, Paul, and her two daughters, Lisa and Chris, constantly by her side throughout the trial.  Over the Thanksgiving weekend, she was blessed with the company of her daughter Lisa Belk and son-in-law William Belk, with their children Marshall, Jackson, Anna Claire, and Abby, and her daughter Chris Steele, with her daughter Bella.  She is also survived by stepson Nathan Broshear and his wife Erin, with their daughter Stella, and by stepdaughter Denise Lacey and her husband Scott, with their children Mikaeli, Cody, and Autumn.  She was pre-deceased by stepson Jerone Broshear, who is survived by his son Cameron with his daughter Persephone, and by his daughter Salena, with her son Peyton, and by Jerone’s stepchildren Kay and Zack.  Linda is also survived by her brothers Johnie and Paul Courtney and by her sisters Patti Seitz, Anita Austin, and Brenda Powell, by her nieces and nephews, and by the many students that she taught during her 33 years as an elementary school teacher.  Linda will be remembered by her wonderful family and by the community as a loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was an always-ready caretaker for all members of her extended family.  No words can describe how blessed her family feels to have been loved by her.  Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, December 8th, at the Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.  Funeral services will start at 1 PM on Friday, December 9th, at Good Hope Congregational Christian Church at 6937 Highway 4 West, Baker.
