It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Sue Maloy, who departed this life on May 1st, 2025, at the age of 78. She lived a life filled with love, laughter and cherished memories that will remain forever in our hearts.
Linda Sue Cobb was born on January 13th, 1947, in Crestview Florida at the Enzor Brothers Hospital to Robert and Jean Allen Cobb. She is survived by her 6 siblings, sisters, Betty Brunson, Patsy Cobb, Judy Fowler (Mike), Jan Blocker, Terry Thames (Chuck), and brother Robert Cobb, Jr.
She had two sons, Wayne (Danielle) and Aubrey (Bonnie) Maloy. She had 4 grandchildren, Evan, Trey, Knox and Sailor Maloy. She had many nieces and nephews that brought her joy to her life also.
Linda graduated from Baker High School in 1965. She then went to work for the Southeastern Telephone Company, beginning as a Switchboard Operator and later serving as a Facilities Assignment Clerk, Cable Technician, and finally, a Central Office Equipment Technician. During her career, she made lasting friendships, especially with her close friend Addie- and once even took a call from Kris Kristofferson while manning the switchboard.
After retiring at the age of 60, Linda fully embraced her most treasured role: Grandmama. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to travel with them, attend any event with them that she could, babysit them and make lasting memories.
Linda also enjoyed caring for her parents, working around her pool and yard, daily Bible reading, and listening to country music. Travis Tritt and Blake Shelton were among her favorites, and she would catch a concert when she could.
Wayne and Aubrey and the family would like to extend deepest gratitude to Meg Lawhon and the Staff of the Crescent Park Village for devoted care and compassion during Linda’s final years.
