Linda Meyers, 78, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, in Niceville, Florida.

Born on February 12, 1948, in New York City, New York, Linda moved to Crestview, Florida, in 1976 and spent most of her life in the community she came to love. She dedicated her entire professional career to the 4-H Club through the University of Florida, where she helped shape the lives of generations of young people through her guidance, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to their growth and success.

Linda had a lifelong passion for gardening and was proud to serve as a Master Gardener. She also devoted countless hours to fostering and rescuing animals, particularly those with special needs. Her compassion knew no bounds, and she opened both her home and her heart to many animals in need throughout her life.

Linda loved history and was an avid genealogist who spent many years researching family roots and preserving connections to the past. Her fascination with history was a passion she shared with her son, David. She was a gifted artist who created joy and shared love through her scratchboard pictures. Her works live on in the homes of her children.

Like her daughter, Laurie, Linda was a deeply spiritual person. Her favorite scripture was 1 Corinthians 13:13: “Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.” Those words reflected the values by which she lived and the example she set for others.

Perhaps Linda's greatest legacy is the love and kindness she shared with her family, friends, and the many animals whose lives she touched. Her devotion to animals lives on through her children, who continue her commitment to caring for and advocating for animals.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Marion Friberg Hesse.

She is survived by her daughter, Laurie Meyers; her son, David Meyers, and his wife, Jena Jolissaint; her sister, Mickey Weiss; and her beloved grand fur babies, Cooper, Bear, and Winnie.

Linda will be remembered for her generous spirit, unwavering compassion, love of nature, enduring faith, and the lasting difference she made in the lives of both people and animals. Her kindness touched many, and her memory will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.
