It is with great sadness to announce that Lisa L. Bova-Beard, Florida State Corrections Officer, passed away after her nearly 2 year courageous battle with cancer on October 9, 2019, at the age of 41.
Lisa had attended Crestview High School, then attended Northwest Florida State College, where she attended and graduated both the Law Enforcement and the Corrections Academy. She began working in corrections in 2010, that lead her to working for Okaloosa Correctional Institute in 2016. She was a devoted officer and absolutely loved the career she had in corrections.
Lisa was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, niece, daughter and best friend. She was loved by so many people and had an amazing support system throughout her battle with cancer.
Lisa is survived by her wife, Katherine Bova-Beard of Crestview, sisters Alice Munson and Audrey Munson, brothers Michael Steward and Gary Steward, children Kalyn Steward, Kiera Giovanini, Austin (Savannah) Kaelble, Alyssa Sparks, Tyler Nesmith, Nyssa Bova-Beard, Kylea Beard, Kaitlyn Beard, and Kelsey Beard, mother-in-law Mary Bova, grandmother-in-laws Mary Kochever and Helen Garceau, nephews Scott (Anya) Bryant, and Rajous Soles, and nieces Fantasy Rudisel and Tiffany Root. She is also predeceased by her parents James and Cathy Steward, son Hunter Nesmith, father-in-law David Bova I, and brother-in-law David Bova II.
During this time, we would also like to thank best friends Allison Adams, Alice and Denise Rocheblave, and Dan Davisson, aunt and uncle Laurie and Bob Carlisle, Donna Giovanini, Dewayne Nesmith, Cody Beard, best cousins ever Doug (Robert) Richardson, Jaqueline (Dennis) Paulson, and Kristina (little Keelan) Svendsen. They all made Lisa know she was very much loved during her final days.
There will be a celebration of life for Lisa on Saturday, October 26, 2019, from 2:00-6:00pm, at the American Legion, 898 E. James Lee Blvd, Crestview, FL.
