Lisa Pitts Obituary

In Loving Memory of Lisa Kay Pitts

It is with heavy hearts and a deep sense of gratitude that we honor the life of Lisa Kay Pitts, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend, who passed from this life into the arms of her Savior on March 17th, 2025. She was a woman of profound faith, unwavering strength, and remarkable service to others, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Born on October 1st, 1969, Lisa was a woman of extraordinary character. From an early age, she felt a deep calling to serve others, and throughout her life, she devoted herself selflessly to that purpose. As a dedicated public servant at Washington County Sheriff’s Office, she tirelessly worked to improve the lives of those around her, always putting the needs of others before her own. Whether in her work or in her church, she lived by the example set by Christ, embracing her role as a vessel of His love and grace.

Though she faced many challenges and endured periods of illness, Lisa always maintained an unshakable faith in God’s plan for her life. She trusted in His will and found her strength through Him. Her faith was evident in everything she did, in the way she loved her family, in the way she served her neighbors, and in the quiet moments when she would speak of God’s goodness and faithfulness.

Lisa took to heart the words of Isaiah 40:31: “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” And truly, she exemplified this verse in her own life. Though her body was often frail, her spirit soared. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, showing that true strength is not measured by physical health, but by the resilience of one’s soul, grounded in faith.

Her passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but we take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace with the Lord she loved so dearly. We hold on to the promise of Revelation 21:4, which assures us, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

We celebrate her life and the countless lives she touched. Her example of faith, service, and love will continue to inspire us all. As we grieve her loss, we also celebrate her journey and we rejoice in the knowledge that she is now in the presence of her Heavenly Father, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant”.

Lisa was preceded in death by her parents W.T. and Linda Pettis; her sister, Brenda Pettis; Her aunt and uncle, H.T. and Lois Pettis.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and faith. She was a cherished wife to Anthony Pitts, a devoted mother and mother-in-law to Adam and Amber Pitts, Joshua and Hannah Pitts, and an adored grandmother to her grandchildren Ashlynn Pitts, Addison Pitts, Alex Pitts, Lucas Pitts and Emma-Kate Pitts; a sister to Gloria Clayton; an aunt to Gavin Clayton and Jasmine Clayton; along with numerous extended family members and friends. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured into them the same love and guidance she offered to the world.
