Lloyd Seckman Obituary

Lloyd Lee Seckman, 74, of Crestview Florida, died Sunday January 31, 2021 at home. He was the son of Harold and Ruth (Thomas) Seckman of Mt Sterling, IL.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Tommy Sullivan of Crestview, FL; his daughter, Tanya Seckman of Fayetteville, AR; his granddaughter, Darian Tessone of Clermont, FL; granddaughter, Alexandra Tessone of Freeman Spur, IL; grandson, Reid Ammon of Spearfish, SD; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Doris Seckman of Parrish, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Rusty Armstrong of Mt Sterling, IL; numerous nieces and nephews; and companion, Betty Sullivan of Crestview, FL.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mylene Jo Page Seckman; daughter Veronica Lynn Seckman; granddaughter, Brittany Mae Rentas; brother, Edward Seckman; and his parents.

He was born May 6, 1946 in Hersman, IL. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Electrical Engineering and took a job with General Electric, before going to work for Arch Coal Corporation, from where he retired in 2010.

He married Mylene February 14, 1972 in St Louis, MO. During their marriage they were residents of St Louis; Evansville, IN; Zeigler, IL; Chapmanville, WV; Wright, WY; and Greenwood AR.

During his life, he enjoyed traveling, classic science fiction, penny slots, learning new things and his family, especially his grandchildren.

Lloyd learned from his parents that you can be anything you want and have anything you want if you are willing to work hard enough and sacrifice the fear for it.

He took comfort in reviewing his blessings to get through the difficult times in life.

He tried to be fair and honest and not betray people - he regrets any time he was unfair or mean.

He was grateful for his life, and believes that things work out for the best

He believed that the biggest mistake in life to avoid is not learning from your mistakes.
