Lois Hayden age 96 of Crestview passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Carington Manor. She was born in Montoursville, PA on November 30, 1926 to Walter and Ruth Entz. Lois worked for Michigan State University and the IRS in data processing, payroll, tax returns and as a book keeper/office manager in Florida. She was an active member in the Methodist church while growing up in Montoursville PA and accepted Christ there. Most of all Lois loved her family, being a mom, wife, grandma and especially looked forward to Christmas and Easter. She enjoyed volunteering and did so for 20 years with the Osceola Regional Medical Center as an auxiliary lady. Lois loved spending time with her auxiliary friends at church and dining out, loved to cook, sing in the choir, listen to music, work in her flower beds and go to Disney. She would talk to most anyone and always asked them their name and showed concern for their well being. Lois was preceded in death by her husband Robert Hayden, daughter Carol Hittel and a brother Gene Entz.
Lois is survived by her son, David Hayden and (Robyn); nieces and nephews Patricia Nehs, Susan Hayden, Brian Hayden, Diane Mamula, Richard Mamula (Susan) and Marilyn Sinclair. Great nephews: Matthew Nehs, (Christa), and Skye Nehs. Son-in-law Bill Hittel; 2 grandchildren, Austin Hittel, Brett Hittel (Mackenzie).
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to First Baptist Church, 171 Hickory Ave, Crestview, Florida 32536, in remembrance of Lois Hayden for the music or children’s ministry.
A celebration of her life will take place at a later date. A special thank you to Carington Manor’s caretakers, cooks, nurses, Robyn Hayden and Pat Nehs.
