Mabel Williams Obituary

Mabel Williams age 88 of Escambia Farms passed away on Monday May 25, 2020 at Florala Rehab Center.  She was born in Escambia Farms on April 27, 1932 to Horace and Mary Chessher and has been a lifelong resident of Escambia Farms. Mabel attended Red Oak School, Blackman School and Escambia Farms School. She was a member of Red Oak Baptist Church. Mabel loved to garden and work in the yard. She could grow any type of flower.  Most of all she loved her family. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Avie Mae Chessher, Ordenss Chessher, Willard Chessher, Meldie Steele, Willene Williams, and Mattie Lou Johnson. Survivors include her husband of 71 years Grady Williams; sons: Jimmy Williams and wife Brenda and Jerry Williams and wife Dorothy; sister Doris Busbee; 6 grandchildren: Showna, Tammy, Jamie, Cynthia, Donna, and Jeremy.  Also surviving are her 12 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. The celebration of Mabel’s life will be on Friday, May 29, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Red Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Toby Stone and Rev. Ronnie Sells officiating. Burial will follow in the Cotton Cemetery.  A time of visitation with the family will be from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m.
