Maleia Lanae Spears

Maleia Lanae Spears, age 14, passed into the arms of Jesus on August 6, 2022. She was born in Pensacola, FL on August 7, 2007, to Malcolm and Kristy Spears. Maleia grew up in both Baker and Crestview and was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. She loved everything Disney, her cats, doing art projects, particularly coloring and painting.  Maleia always wanted her praise and worship music playing and enjoyed going to many concerts for her favorite Christian artists. Maleia was an “Old Soul”, easy going, refreshing, and carefree, and she gave the best hugs.  She loved spending time with her friends.  She was preceded in death by her great grandparents and a cousin, Gage Spears.

          Maleia is survived by her parents, Malcolm and Kristy Spears; brother, Mason Spears and sister, Marisa Spears; grandparents, Dale and Marilyn Coon and Daniel and Lana Spears; aunts and uncles, Craig and Shannon Spears, Kyle and Kelley Coon, Jeremy and Sunny Coon, and Justin Spears; numerous cousins and her treasured best friend, Reanna Panarisi.

          A time of visitation with the family will be on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. The celebration of Maleia’s life will be on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with Pastors Geoff Prows and Stan Lewis officiating. Burial will take place at Pilgrim Rest. The family asks that in honor of Maleia, for everyone wear her favorite colors: peach, pink, or purple.
