Marcia Weaver Saranpa, 78, of Crestview, Florida, passed away on June 6, 2026.

Marcia was born on June 21, 1947, in Rochester, New York to Ross and Regina Weaver, who later made their home in Fort Walton Beach. She’s preceded in death by her husband RJ Saranpa, who passed away in 2002.

A graduate of Hillsdale College in Michigan, Marcia later completed paralegal studies at the University of West Florida. A lifelong learner who valued education and hard work, she built a career that began as a paralegal for Richard H. Powell in Fort Walton Beach before moving to Crestview, where Marcia founded Freedom Tax Service Plus with her sister Joanne and late brother-in-law Bob. Through her work as a tax preparer, Marcia served the Crestview community for many years and remained dedicated to her clients until her passing.

Marcia enjoyed life's simple pleasures and never lost her curiosity about the world around her. She found joy in many places, including Jeopardy!, reading “trash”, horse racing, slot machines, Michigan sports, and rock and roll music. Marcia’s greatest passion was her love for animals and she cared for many pets over the years. Friends, family, and clients will remember Marcia’s genuine interest in people and her willingness to ask questions about everything and everyone.

Marcia is survived by her cat, Dusty; her son, Matt; her sisters, Jeanne Guidetti of Georgia, Bev Kapp of Texas, and Joanne Fiddler of Florida; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Services will be arranged by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local animal shelter or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of Marcia’s memory.
