Mary Helen (Carroll) Etheridge

Mary Helen (Carroll) Etheridge, a long time resident of Crestview, Florida, passed away at Crescent Park Village on January 7, 2024.    She was born October 23, 1924 in Andalusia, Alabama to Clyde and Opal (McDonald) Carroll, Helen graduated from Andalusia High School in 1942 and moved to Crestview where she worked at Eglin Air Force Base for many years.

Helen is a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Crestview and a 70 year member of Crestview Chapter No. 203, Order of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Oscar D. Etheridge; her father and mother, Clyde C. Carroll and Opal (McDonald) Carroll; six brothers, Madison, Clydie, Charles, Earnest, Jerry and Raleigh Carroll.

Helen is survived by sisters-in-law, Tody Carroll of Crestview and Kathy Carroll of Baker, Florida; close cousin, Jeanette Crowson of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many wonderful friends.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 12:00-1:00pm at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with the funeral service starting at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery.
