Michael “Mike” Albert Barbata (1962-2024)

Michael Albert Barbata, 61, of Alhambra, California passed away unexpectedly on June 25, 2024.

He was born in Alhambra, California in 1962 to Tony and Beverly Barbata. Mike lived life to the fullest though simple pleasures; Biking, working with his hands, weather watching, space gazing and watching crime shows. He loved the company of his family and friends, enjoying his favorite snacks and spending time being “Grandpa” to his grandsons, nieces and nephews. Mike enjoyed rocking out to his favorite bands (loudly) and sharing concert stories with his son and grandsons. He was a practical joker with a generous heart of gold, never hesitating to help people out. Because he was a big kid at heart, his grandsons, nieces and nephews adored him. Mike accepted everyone with an open heart, open arms and a big smile.  Mike’s light-heartedness and ability to make people laugh was second to none. Mike was truly a one-of-a-kind man. His smile and laughter will forever echo through the lives of every person he touched.

Mike is survived by his son, Michael Barbata; his grandsons, Dominic and Dante Barbata; his father, Tony Barbata; He was Mikey, Grandpa and Bro to his sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews whom all surely have a story to tell of his shenanigans.

Mike is preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Barbata; and his daughter, Amanda Barbata.

A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home in Crestview, FL.
