Michael "Mike" Murphy

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Michael (Mike) Anthony Murphy of Crestview on August 21, 2024, at the age of 67. He defied the odds by battling Melanoma for the past 7 years and showed great strength and determination.

Mike joined the Air Force at the age of 17. He deployed to the Gulf War as part of Operation Desert Storm. After 20 years of military service, he retired to Florida where he later worked as a fire truck mechanic at Eglin AFB.  He was a man of great faith and spent his free time volunteering with the Knights of Columbus in his community. He had a passion for everything outdoors, but he especially loved being on the water.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sally; daughters Christina (Erick) and Diana (Greg); and grandchildren, Liam, Oliver and Savannah.

Visitation will be September 9 at 10 am at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Crestview. The funeral will follow at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
