Mozelle Brown

Mozelle Brown age 91 of Crestview passed away on Tuesday August 9, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Brooklyn, AL on December 8, 1930, to Lonnie and Lorena Fortner. Mozelle had been a lifelong resident of Crestview. She volunteered for many many years at the hospital and was President of the Auxiliary. Mozelle loved to fish and loved putting up vegetables. Most of all she loved her family, especially them grandbabies. She never met a stranger and loved everybody; one time she even gave the shoes off her own feet to a lady that loved the way the shoes looked! Mozelle was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph Brown, her son, Joel Brown, and a daughter, Sharon Brown.

          Mozelle is survived by her children: L.G. Brown and his wife Mary Sue, Rena Sumner and her husband Dan, Rodney Brown and his wife Roberta, and Tosha Gilley and her husband Jon. Also surviving are Mozelle’s numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

          A time of visitation with the family will be held on Monday August 15, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home. The celebration of Mozelle’s life will be on Tuesday August 16, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Good Hope Congregational Cemetery.
