Olive Carol (Osburn) Powers, age 91, of League City, TX went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 2, 2020 in Friendswood, TX. She was born on December 9, 1928 to parents Vida Belle (Bowers) Osburn and former Okaloosa County Judge Wilbur F. Osburn, Sr. Growing up in Crestview, Florida she later graduated from Florida State University and was very proud of her connection to FSU. Olive was married to the love of her life, Richard C. Powers, Sr. on December 31, 1950. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She attended Friendswood United Methodist Church in Texas the last years of her life. She was known to enjoy her floral artwork, cheerful colorful clothing and bright pink walker using them to entertain and uplift all who encountered her. Her life was devoted to her faith, children, love of animals and making the world a more beautiful place. She will be greatly missed, but always loved. Her children have peace in knowing she is in heaven. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Richard C. Powers, Sr.
Olive is survived by her two sons, Richard C. Powers, Jr., JD and his wife Lois (Johnston) Powers and W. Edward Powers, MD and his wife Nancy (Freeman) Powers; her brother, W. Forney Osburn, Jr.; grandchildren, Nicole Catherine Powers, William Edward Powers II, Katherine Elizabeth Powers-Reitmeyer, Jonathan Gary Register, and Christopher Adam Register; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A private burial will be held at Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery in Crestview, Florida. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview. Guest book and condolences are available online at www.whitehurstpowellfuneralhome.com
