It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia “Patty” Barnhill announces her passing on September 23, 2024 at age 80. Patty was a caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her kindness and smile could light up the room as she gracefully shared her southern style and hospitality with everyone that met her. She was born to Hercel and Winnifred Mossor on July 23, 1944. Both her parents and her brothers David “Butch” Mossor and Warren “Ralph” Mossor preceded her in leaving this world. After marrying her high school sweetheart William “Bill” Barnhill, her motherhood began with the birth of Rosalyn “Roz” Barnhill. Why not take a break? 10 years later Renee’ Barnhill was born and 18 months later twins Lana Barnhill Parker and Laura Barnhill arrived. Other close family members that will miss Patty include significant others: Kim Carlisle, Clint Parker, Kenny Mengel and Jess Barnhill. Grand children: Kaila Parker, Kaleb Parker, Rilee Filbert and Reese Filbert. Patty enjoyed life despite battling rheumatoid arthritis since the age of 19, which she never complained about. Some of her favorite things included trying to raise four proper Southern Belles (The jury is still out on the success of that endeavor), entertaining friends and family, beach days, drawing and painting. She and Bill were active members in Foxwood Country Club and she was a past queen of Los Caballeros. She was a dedicated sidekick and office assistant to any business venture that Bill took on. Her love of music and dancing was passed on to her daughters and still remains a large part of family get-togethers. A funeral service will be held at Whitehurst-Powell funeral home 436 W. James Lee Blvd Crestview, FL. Visitation starting at 11 am Service at 12 pm, following will be a graveside service at Griffith Cemetery in Milligan and immediately following a celebration of her life will be held at Gum Creek Lodge in Baker. In lieu of flowers the family suggest making a donation to the Arthritis Foundation.
