Roy Allen Garrett

Roy Garrett, age 91 of Crestview, passed away October 4, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Butters, N.C. on May 14, 1930, to John & Margaret Garrett. Roy graduated from Crestview High School in 1948. He served his country in the National Guard. Roy owned & operated Garrett Insurance Company for many years. He loved to deer hunt & turkey hunt and loved to fish. Roy could build anything and was “Mr. Fix it”. If he put his mind to it, he could do or fix anything. Most of all he loved his family, family was everything to him. Mr. Garrett was preceded in death by his wife Olive Garrett; parents, brothers Carl and John Garrett and a sister, Olivia Goodhart. 

Roy is survived by his daughters, Margaret Gai Williams and husband Danny and Debbie Pangle and husband Gary; sister-in-law, Annette Holland Garrett; five grandchildren, Josh (Michele), Justin (Ale), Andrew, Emily (Jay), & Garrett (Amanda); great grandchildren, Maddy, Anna, Laken, Crosby, and a little girl, Lucianna Marie, on the way.  Also, a special friend, Yvonne Steele.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Regency Hospice and Dr. Ros and his nurses Christina and Anna. 

The funeral service will be held Friday, October 8, 2021, at 11:00am at First Baptist Church in Crestview.  Visitation will take place from 10-11 am.  Burial will follow in Beal Memorial Cemetery in Fort Walton Beach.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Crestview Building Fund.
