Ruby Jewel Carr, born on August 28th, 1930, passed away peacefully on March 29th, 2025.
She was a devoted Christian, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
She was proceeded in death by her beloved husbands, James R. Baker and Marvis Carr, as well as her parents, Hurbert and Ethel Johnson, and her sister, Vonice Padilla.
She is survived by her loving children, Jerry Baker and his wife Nancy, Susan Baker, and Ann Baker Williams; her cherished grandchildren, Jason Adams, Eric Adams, and Melissa Calamusa; and her adored great-grandchildren, Jarrett Adams, Ava Adams, Zedekiah Calamusa, and Leonidas Calamusa. Along with many other family members and friends that will miss her dearly.
A woman of deep faith, Ruby Jewel was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Baker, where she found great joy in worship and fellowship. Her life was defined by commitment— commitment to God, the church, her family, and the community.
Rest in peace, Ruby Jewel. You will be forever loved and never forgotten.
