Ruby Frabott Obituary

Ruby Etta Howard Frabott, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, in Crestview, Florida. She was 76 years old. Born on August 23, 1946, in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Ruby was the cherished daughter of the late Wilson P. Howard and Maudine Cook Howard.

A proud graduate of Crestview High School, Ruby was an enthusiastic member of the Glee Club during her years there. After graduation, she remained deeply connected to her alma mater, dedicating her time to organizing class reunions and fostering enduring bonds among her classmates. Ruby continued her educational journey at Okaloosa-Walton Junior College, distinguishing herself as part of its inaugural graduating class in 1966. She pursued her passion for mathematics and statistics at the University of West Florida, and further honed her academic prowess by obtaining a Master's Degree in Mathematics from the same institution. A dedicated educator, Ruby began her professional journey teaching mathematics at Woodham High School, later serving at Baker School, and eventually retiring from Richbourg Middle School in 2000.

On June 8, 1990, Ruby married Michael D. “Mickey” Frabott. They were married for 33 years. Alongside her husband Mickey, she journeyed across 44 states, visiting the highest points in the United States. Ruby's zest for life was reflected in her diverse interests. She was an avid reader with a penchant for murder mysteries, a skilled seamstress, a talented photographer, and a passionate book collector. But above all, she cherished spending quality time with her family.

Ruby was a member of the First Baptist Church, Crestview, who treasured her close relationship with Jesus Christ. Her faith remained a constant source of strength during her battle with illness, allowing her to face her final days with grace and unwavering assurance in her salvation.

Ruby leaves behind a loving family, including her devoted husband, Mickey Frabott, her cherished daughter Rachael Jordan Quinn (Patrick), and her seven adored grandchildren, Kaylee, Patrick Wilson, Caitlin, Janaya, Maya James, Mikayla, and Sean Mario Quinn. She is also survived by her caring brothers, Allen (Dorene) Howard and Don (Donna) Howard, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Ruby is preceded in death by her parents.

Ruby's memory will forever be held dear by those who knew and loved her. Her compassionate spirit, unwavering faith, dedication to education, and love for her family have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of crossing her path.
