Ruth Earline Middlebrooks, lovingly known as “Momma”, “MeMaw” & Grandma, 92 , of Lockhart Alabama passed away at her home surrounded by her family, February 21, 2026. She was born December 20, 1933 in Houston, Texas. The oldest of five children, to Earl and Alma (Weaver) Esders. She Graduated from Reagan High School in Houston Texas.
On Dec 21,1951 Ruth married her husband of 54 Years, Charley Richardson Middlebrooks Jr. Together they raised four children and lived in several states following Charley’s Military career before settling down in the Baker area in 1973.
Ruth worked for Avco Financial and the Okaloosa County Courthouse for several years. She also was an Avon representative where she could be seen driving her pink jeep on deliveries. She was a great lover of Sports as her and Charley were Coaches for Children’s baseball for many years. She also loved playing softball in the women’s area league.
As a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church she lived a life rooted in faith, love and quiet strength. Ruth was the Heart of her family- to know her was to fill cared for. She had a tremendous sense of humor Ruth loved to laugh and had a way to bring light into a room. Whether through a quick remark, playful tease or a perfectly timed joke.
Ruth especially cherished her family and the bond she shared with those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Billy McFarland, sister Jean Heath and Franchis McFarland and grandchildren Robin Nicole Middlebrooks and Cody James Barlow.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Brenda Weaver of Lockhart Alabama, Charley (Janeil) Middlebrooks of Crestview FL, Ronald (Sandra) Middlebrooks of Freeport FL and Ruth Lee Shawnaree Larkins (Richard) of Lockhart Al. Also left to cherish her memory are 24 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren and her sister Darlene Smith of Houston Texas and many dear relatives and friends.
