Sara Jutson “Sadie” Enzor Lee, longtime resident of Baker and Crestview, Florida, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 16, 2020. Born in Ramer, AL on July 2, 1923, Sadie was born on the way to a picnic and delivered on the roadside by her father, Dr. Justus Orlando Enzor. Despite her birthplace, she always considered herself a native Floridian, and went to great lengths to keep the fact that she was born in Alabama a secret. A homemaker of the highest caliber, Sadie was known for offering her guests a Coke as well as for her delicious banana pudding and chocolate cake. If you asked her what she did for a living, she would say that she drove a cotton truck, and that she had a shotgun and was not afraid to use it. She loved gardening, cooking, traveling (specifically to her beloved Alaska), and socializing with her many friends. She nurtured her family and was always the “room mother” for her children Al and Sara Ann’s school days and made sure they always looked sharp, had good manners and a good education. Preceded in death by her father Dr. Justus Orlando Enzor, her mother Sallie Booth Enzor, her husband of 60 years Claude Al “Buck” Lee, her son Claude “Al” Lee, Jr., and her close family members Dr. Rhett Ewing Enzor, Dr. Allen Austin Enzor, Claire Enzor, Florence Enzor, Ila Enzor, Kitty Davis, Lucille Lee and Durrell Lee, Linda Lee, and Scott Lee, Marilea and James Lee, Helen and Gary Lee, and Myrtle Wells. She is survived by her daughter Dr. Sara Rushing, her son-in-law Mike Rushing, her grandchild Rowan Jade Rushing, and her grandchild-in-law-to-be Joey Byrom. She is also survived by close friends and family Celestine “Bits” and Dick Folga, Dr. Mary and Dr. Hank Foscue, Evelyn and John Love, Jan and Donald Ray, and Max and Tanya Jackson. A service to celebrate Sadie’s life will be held at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home on Monday at 2:00 pm, with family visitation starting at 12:00pm and public visitation starting at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.
