Stephen Clay age 60 of Crestview passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at North Okaloosa Medical Center. He was born in Fort Dix Military Hospital in New Jersey. Stephen lived in Atlanta, GA before moving to Crestview in 2011. Prior to that he lived in Key West, FL, and New York City where he worked as a server in several different restaurants. After moving to Crestview, he worked as a server in the Wild Olive and Azteca restaurants. Stephen gave his life to the Lord during a revival service at Woodlawn Baptist Church in April 2011 and was baptized in May 2011. After joining the church, he volunteered to serve in planning and cooking the Wednesday nights suppers, the monthly Senior Breakfast, and a mission trip to West Virginia. Most of all he loved working and was prideful of his work. He was preceded in death by his mother Kaye Clay.
Stephen is survived by his father Jim Clay; his brothers: John Clay and his wife Anna, Michael Clay and his wife Molly and David Clay and his wife Gayla, along with numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The celebration of Stephen’s life will be held on Saturday September 10, 2022, at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home at 11:00am, visitation at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Stephen’s memory to the Woodlawn Baptist Church Earl Tapley mission fund.
