Thelma Able age 91 of Crestview passed away on Saturday March 26, 2022, at Shoal Creek Rehab. She was born in Lakeport, FL on August 30, 1930, to Ray & Ora Collier. Thelma was a factory worker at the chicken plant in Defuniak Springs for many years and later went to work at Mickey’s Pit Stop as a cashier for several years. She loved to go to yard sales and the flea markets. Thelma loved embroidery and watching cooking shows and game shows on TV. Most of all she loved cooking for her family and spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her husband Cullen Able; daughter Deborah Fair; granddaughter Melissa Youngblood; son-in-law Rodney King; daughter-in-law Carol Able; and brothers: Buck Collier, Alfred Collier, Son Collier, and Ira Collier.
Thelma is survived by her children: Jerry Able & wife Donna, Larry Able, Beverly Gill, Richard Able and wife Debbie, and Brenda King; brother Phillip Collier; grandchildren: Chris, Derrick, Tanya, Justin, Larry Jr., Tina, Zack, and Nikki; six great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter Aubrey on the way.
A time of visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday March 30, 2022, at 10:00 and her funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Pyron Chapel Cemetery in Baker, FL.
