Thora "Tody" Mae Carroll

Ms Thora Mae Carroll went to meet her Lord and Savior on May 3, 2026.  She was born in Laurel Hill, FL on December 4, 1932 to Emel & Gertrude Wang. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. Robert McGovern; husband, Earnest Carroll; brothers, Elvin Wang, Larry Wang and sister, Mae Ruth Wang.

Ms Tody leaves behind her legacy of her son and his wife, Rodney and Christy McGovern; her pride and joy, her grandchildren, Cody, Ryan, Brian and Amber; great-grands, Grayson, Morgan, Bristol and Sutton; along with extended family and friends.

Ms Tody, as she was affectionately known, worked as a bank teller for 36 years. She was stern but loving as a mother.  She believed in instilling a sense of pride in your workmanship and giving reverence to God for all the glory. She had her trials through life losing two husbands but she never let it get her down. There is no sorrow that Heaven can not heal.

The family invites you to join them at 1 pm for a visitation at Whitehurst-Powell before services at 2 pm with Pastor Donnie Cadenhead officiating. She will be laid to rest at Svea Cemetery following.
