Todd L McGirr
Todd “slipped the surly bonds of earth” Sunday 15 Oct. Born 1957 in Norwalk, CT to Donald & Judy McGirr. He proudly served 21 years in the US Air Force. As a weapons loader, his 509th Bomb Wing Team won at Giant Sword. His 33rd TFW team won at William Tell. He was a Production Supervisor with the 58th Fighter Squadron during Desert Storm.
He retired as CMsgt to open a welding business and pursue his passion of flying. He flew for local contractors and Piedmont Airlines, but was happiest formation flying 1940’s era taildragger aircraft including his Taylorcraft.
He was elected to the North Okaloosa Fire District Board in 2012 and served until his death. He was preceded in death by his father Donald, his sister Kathleen and brother Donald. He is survived by his loving wife Louise, sons Brian (wife Sarah) and Scott, grandson Levi and mother Judy.
