Wanda Smith

Wanda Smith peacefully transitioned into the arms of Christ on February 28th, at the age of 64, in Crestview, Florida, in her home.

The funeral services will be held on March 10th, 2023 at First Church of God in Christ, at 3:00 P.M. Burial will be private (for family only) at Barrancas Cemetery, in Pensacola, Florida. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home, 436 West James Lee Blvd., Crestview, FL 32536.

Wanda was born on Castle A.F.B., in Merced, California on May 26th, 1958. She graduated from Sacramento Senior High School, in 1976.

Wanda was married to Bobbie Smith on September 9th, 1978 and they were married for 44 years.

Wanda worked at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast as the Office Manager, the Executive Assistant to the CEO, before taking full disability leave from the workforce. She had a passion for interior decorating, ministry, and her grandchildren. 

Wanda is survived by her husband, Bobbie; her children, Lakisha (Deron), Michael, and Ebony; her grandchildren, Thandiwe and Miracle; her father, Oscar; her sisters Wilma, Jane, Janet; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other family, and friends, all who loved her. 

Wanda is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy, and her niece, Shanelle. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Mercy Seat Ministries, 248 Hollywood Blvd. N.E., Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548, in the name of Wanda Smith.
