Wayne Scott Obituary

Wayne Scott age 68 of Crestview passed away on Thursday January 14, 2021 at North Okaloosa Medical Center. Wayne was born in Oakland, CA on May 30, 1952 to Stuart and Madeline Scott. Wayne served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 plus years. He was a 1st SGT and an aircraft mechanic. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force Wayne was an entrepreneur and started and owned several restaurants in Crestview. He was a tremendous supporter of the Crestview community and the local schools. Wayne loved going to the casino’s and watching football. He loved his family, especially his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his father Stuart Scott, Stepmom Rose Scott, stepdad Ferrell Gregg and his brother Raymond Scott.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 47 years Jarin Scott; his Mom, Madaline Gregg; his children: David Scott, Missy Scott-Kronenwetter and her husband Chris , and Jarin Gaines; Brothers: Mike Scott, Gary Scott, Steve Scott, and Stuart Scott; and a sister Carol Bowser; the apple of his eye were his grandchildren: Alyssa Gaines, Payton Gaines and Jaxson Kronewetter. Many nephews, nieces, and friends also survive.

The celebration of Wayne’s life will be on Tuesday January 19, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home. A time of visitation with the family will begin at 5:00 p.m.
