Yvonne Steele age 91 of Crestview passed away on Monday April 3, 2023 at Navarre Gardens. She was born in Red Level, AL to Charles and Eunice Prescott. Her family moved to Baker when she was a child and she grew up in the Baker and Crestview Communities. Yvonne attended First Baptist Church of Crestview and retired from the Okaloosa County School Board where she worked as a Secretary. Yvonne loved her family and spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ronnie Steele, Son Rick Steele, and her brothers and sisters. Yvonne is survived by her sons: Russell Steele and wife Laura and Rodney Steele and wife Glenda; 7 grandchildren: Rick Steele and his wife Leigh, Alexis, Heath, Trevor, Waylon, Hayden and Nolan. Also surviving are several loving great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. A special thank you to her nieces Pat Harris and Patti Bonta; Roy Garrett and his family for the love and care that they showed to our mother, and Navarre Gardens for the care and love you also showed toward and for our mom. A graveside service will be held on Thursday April 6, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery. A time of visitation with the family will begin at 9:30 at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Yvonne’s memory to the First Baptist Church Building Fund. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.
