MAE KATIE McKAY CASTILLE

            Mae Castille, age 81 of Crestview passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.  She was born in Camden, S.C. on August 23, 1935, to Hoover and Conealie McKay.  Mae was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church where she sang in the choir and took care of the seasonal decorations inside the church.  She also worked around the church keeping the grounds and making sure all was beautiful and pristine.  Mae loved being a military wife and taking care of her family.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charles D. Castille and an infant daughter Teresa Castille.          

            Survivors include her children: Pat Castille and his wife Evelyn, Betsy Brooks and her husband Dan, Richard Castille, and Paul Castille and his wife Carrie; brothers: Odell, Ardell, and Alvin McKay; sisters: Bernice Young, Emily Broom, and Estelle Gray.  Also surviving are her grandchildren: Casi Krog, Joshua Castille, Christopher Castille, Cody Brooks, Harley Castille, Katie Crews, Cole Castille, Bret Castille, and Bridget Lucas; great grandchildren: Pierson Krog, Maddie Krog, Lexie Castille, Ryan and Serenity Lucas, and 2 step great grandchildren: Kyle and Kinley Williamson.

            The celebration of Mae’s life will be on Friday, March 24, 2017, at 4:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with a visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m.  Burial will follow in the Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery.  The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Mae’s caretakers for their kindness and support as well as the wonderful Nurses at Emerald Coast Hospice.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Emerald Coast Hospice in Mae’s memory.
