I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Butch was a friend and helper to anyone she met. She always had a smile on her face. I was very blessed to know her, Charles, and the children. She loved her family and also her church, Our Lady of Victory. I am sorry to say, I will not be able to join you tomorrow as I have an appointment in Ft Walton Beach.

The lovely lady Mae Castille, better known to all who knew her as "Butch," has left us to be reunited with her husband Charles. When I met her in the '60's, I asked her how she had acquired the name of "Butch." She laughed, and replied that Charles had bestowed that name upon her when they were dating. Well, it stuck -- as did her marriage to Charles. They raised four wonderful children, who have all gravitated back to the Castille Compound where they grew up. I can't think of a better tribute than to be surrounded by your grown children and grandchildren.

Butch and I grew to be more than neighbors. We were soon best friends. In fact, Butch was the best friend anyone could ever hope to have. It seemed as though her attributes and talents knew no boundaries. She was an excellent wife, mother, seamtress, gardener, and so much more. She worked in her yard tirelessly, and it always looked like the "Yard of the Month."

She was very kindhearted, and always ready to help someone in need. We spent many an hour sitting across the table from each other, enjoying a cup of coffee, discussing whatever came to hand. There was a lot of laughter intertwined with those cups of coffee. I have many cherished memories of the good times we spent together. She was a wonderful lady, and I shall miss her greatly.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Peace be with your family during the days and weeks to come. I have fond memories working with Butch in the lunchroom, playing bingo, singing in the choir and visiting. Butch was funny, mild mannered and I loved her. God Bless!
