Evelyn Bernash Palmateer

Evelyn Joyce Bernash Palmateer age 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 26, 2015. She was born September 8, 1929 in Ballston Spa, New York. She was one of ten children born to Rudolph and Erma Bernash. She was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church of Crestview, Florida. She was a person who liked crafts and could make nice things out of nothing. She was a foster mother to 11 babies and was a CNA for several years.
She married Charles Palmateer January 23rd, 1948 and was married for 32 years when the Lord took Charles home. Now 35 years later she has gone to be with him and her parents. Evelyn is also preceded in death by four brothers, Mylon, Junior, Clayton and Billy; sisters, Charlotte and Beatrice; son, Charles Jr.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Susan Gunter Barrow and husband Bobby, Caroline Wilbur, Lucinda Doss, and Marie Ward and husband Jeffery; sons, David Palmateer and wife Debbie, and Tracy D. Palmateer and wife Carolina;  sister, Christina Smith; 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 12:00 at Live Oak Baptist Church with the service starting at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations to be given to Emerald Coast Hospice.
