Harold Royce Ritter

Harold Royce Ritter, age 86, of Crestview passed away on Friday, February 17th, 2017.  He was born in Samson, AL on December 19, 1930. Harold was a member of Central Baptist Church.  He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and is a Purple Heart Recipient.  He retired from Monsanto and then the Okaloosa County Sheriff Department where he worked as a Bailiff for many years.  Harold also pastored many small churches in the area.

He is preceded in death by his wife Norma Day Ritter, his parents William Mark Ritter and Mayo Landingham, sister, Glenda Caldwell.  Survivors include son, Stan Ritter and his wife Sandra, Doug Ritter and his wife Bonnie and daughters, Sonya Merritt and husband Jacky, Jeanie Bland and husband Tony, Angie Ritter Barker and Jon Anderson, brothers, Bobby Landingham, Monty Landingham, Roger Landingham, 14 grandchildren and 20 great- grandchildren.

    A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 6-8pm at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home. Service will be on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 starting at 10:00am. at the Chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home, burial will follow in the Travelers Rest Cemetery in Samson, AL.
