Jim Ratliff

Ratliff, age 59 of Crestview passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016.  He was born in Charleston, SC on April 27, 1957, to Tom and Marie Ratliff.  Jim served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years before retiring.  He then worked at several local schools in the county in the special education departments.  Jim worked at Meigs Middle School, Richburg School, and the Crestview Charter School.  He loved his model airplanes, loved to travel to historical places, loved to read and watch old movies.  Most of all he loved his family, especially his grandchildren and his dogs.  Jim was preceded in death by his mother Marie Ratliff.

            Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Robin Ratliff of Crestview, children: Arika Aduddell of Crestview and Adam Aduddell of New Jersey; a brother Mike Ratliff, sister Karen Ratliff both of South Carolina; his mother-in-law Mary Bell.  Also surviving are his grandchildren: Jacob, Kaeleb, and Jonah Archer and a nephew Nathan Bell and nieces: Amber and Ellen Bell.

            A memorial service to honor Jim will be on Sunday, December 4, 2016, at 5:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral with Reverend Donnie Cadenhead officiating.  Military Honors will follow.  A time of visitation with the family will begin at 4:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to United Cerebral Palsy, www.ucp.org or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
