Joan M. Vickers

Joan M. Vickers, age 79, of Crestview, passed away Friday morning, August 28, 2015, at Bay Medical Center in Panama City, after a brief illness. She was born in Beloit, Wisconsin on October 20, 1935. Her family moved to California in 1942, where she met married the love of her life, Willie Bruce Vickers. In 1963, they moved to Okaloosa County, where Joan was employed in several businesses including First National Bank and Trust. She was also one of the founders of the Destin Seafood Festival. In addition to her husband, Willie Bruce, she is survived by a son, Tommy Joe Vickers and his family; a daughter, Lisa Crabtree, and her family; and a sister, Sandy McDonald, of Palm Desert, Calif. The family will have a memorial gathering for friends and family at their residence in Crestview on Saturday, September 5, 2015, from 1 to 4 PM to celebrate Joan’s life. . In lieu of flowers, please contribution to a Hospice Organization in Joan’s memory.
