My heart is greatly saddened that we have lost such a great soldier for Jesus Christ. Bro. Raymond was instrumental in leading me to Christ and baptizing me at Southside Baptist Church when I was only 4 years old. He was also the main person who influenced me to later join the ministry. I will never forget his enthusiasm for God, family, and church. Though I was unaware of his passing until now, I will look forward to seeing him in Heaven! May God continue to bless the impact of his ministry for many years to come - Charles Powell A.K.A. Wesley Jones

This minister I just heard his name , but when he begun a new church, now New Beginning, it was with 75 members with no pianist...He heard of me, came to see if I were busy at another church.I was not.Just attending the Assembly, but God used this dear friend to give me opportunity to use my talent from God to glorify Him and bless a group of Christians...From that did a friendship grow between he and his wife, Margaret... I moved on the the New Beginning church until the church found a permanent pianist....Our fellowship grew unto one of Christian bro and sis..He and his wife were my dear dear friends... I guarantee that smile is being used in heaven.... Glad we will meet again and that not far away..

Bro. Raymond influenced everyone he met through his witness and testimony of Jesus. He was a great servant for our Lord! Even after years of being away from Crestview, I could still reach out to him for advice and wisdom about the Bible. My fond memories are always within the notes I have made in my Bible over the years of his instruction and teaching. My greatest memory will be him telling me about my Saviour and leading me to Christ through his message many, many years ago! My prayers are with everyone that feels the emptiness of his passing! As he has always said "Jesus is right for whatever is wrong in your life!" I am saddened at his passing but rejoicing that he is finally face to face with Jesus. Well done though good and faithful servant!! You will be greatly missed!

Words can't express the sincere love and respect we had for Bro. Raymond. I have no doubt he heard these words. . . "Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord" (Mathew 25:21). Bro. Raymond and his family will always hold a special place in the hearts of our family.

Ms. Margaret and family, may our Savior comfort you and give you peace that surpasses all understanding during this most difficult time. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all.

Margaret, Mark, Amanda and Family
Your husband, father and my brother, friend and mentor, went from his head on a pillow in this life to dancing down streets of gold on Sunday morning in the 4th watch of the night. Time, pain and tribulation means nothing to him now. My oldest daughter, Christy, said it best, "it is just like him to go to see JESUS on Sunday morning just in time to watch the sunrise with HIM." As I got in the car to go to church that Sunday morning the song that came on as I started the car was a beautiful choir rendition of, "We Shall Rise". How appropriate. I loved him dearly and will miss him, his voice and whistle terribly.
We will pray for you and others who loved him so dearly,
your loss is certainly heavens gain.
In JESUS' LOVE
Bro. Ben & Mrs. Billie

Brother Raymond Williams sits at the right hand of the Lord today; partaking of his inheritance achieved through his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ms. Margaret, Mark, Amanda and those three “wonderful” grandchildren that put an “extra’ sparkle in those already glistening eyes. Brother Raymond was Beverly’s pastor from childhood and while dating, she introduced me to the “Best Pastor Ever!” Instantly, it was apparent why Beverly loved this man so. He talked of Jesus with an enthusiasm, a fervor that was infectious to all within earshot. He brought me back to Jesus, when I did not believe it possible. He married Beverly, anointed us with oil. He and Ms. Margaret prayed for us, bringing us our miracle baby, Ryan. He touched our lives in such a positive way, saying he will be missed is understated. Our joy is found knowing he is with Jesus, Johnny Ray, his brothers and all those he brought to the flock enjoying “nanner puddin”. Ms. Margaret, we love you all and you are in our prayers.

Uncle Raymond was a amazing pastor, caring person, true friend, counselor to many and loving husband, father, grandfather and family member. I will never forget that he was the first person to welcome me to the family, who baptized me-bringing me to know Jesus Christ and always there for me when I needed advice, counseling and prayers. I will miss seeing him at family get togethers and his smile that could make you feel so special. My prayers are with Aunt Margaret, Mark, Amanda and the children. May God be with you and comfort you til you are reunited in Heaven.

on behalf of the "McIntosh" family in Paxton, our hearts are sad but yet happy at the same time. Sad because this earth has lost a wonderful man, but yet happy because he's finally at peace and in Heaven with so many family and friends, our father Bro. Frank McIntosh being one of the many. I know that Daddy has already welcomed Bro. Raymond with one of those "big ol' hugs" that only Daddy and Bro. Raymond could give, along with that hard kiss you always received on the cheek. They have finally reached their ultimate goal as men of God in receiving that "Mansion Over The Hilltop", as the old gospel hym they loved to sing together says. Too many wonderful memories to even sit down and write about with Bro. Raymond and our family........he and Ms. Margaret will always hold a very special place in our hearts and homes. Love so much~The McIntosh's.

Funniest thing I will remember when he demonstrated Jesus on the cross on easter week and he took his clothes all off except his white boxers. He said he was no different than Jesus, so he proved if he could do that for us, we could too. Sister Margret bro Raymond did so much good for his church than I have seen anyone else do ever. I could go on and on I loved him so much I can not believe he is gone to be with Jesus. I won't be at the funeral because I want too remember bro Raymond. Like he was always jolly and always happy. I have known this wonderful man my entire life. He was my neighbor and my friend. Brother Raymond taught me more about our savior Jesus Christ than ANYONE EVER HAS! I will b forever grateful for that. I got into an argument w my teachers at Tall Pines about them saying if I didn't attend church then I wouldn't go to Heaven. Pastor Raymond was there the next day and talked to me for 2 hours and helped me understand that it's not good attendance that gets me in Heaven. He told me I can pray at home and have fellowship at home w my family.
Then when I was a teenager I kept backing my camaro into the trashcan and somehow got my back tires stuck on it..he saw me in distress and came to help me. It happened again that week and of course he helped me again. He said "Honey do I need to come back it up for u EVERY MORNING!?" Lol. He had a great sense of humor. My family and I will miss him dearly. But we know we will see him again soon as God calls us home.

Brother Raymond was such a big part of my life from early childhood when he was Choir Director at Caney Creek. Most of my nights growing up were spent traveling to some church where the choir was singing at a revival or meeting. He continued to be a big influence after he left to pastor Southside Baptist Church in Crestview. He was always part of our life and preached most of the funerals in our family. When I became a pastor Brother Raymond was always available to preach revivals and give encouragement and advise. When Mom was sick the last time Raymond and Margret ministered to us and took care of us in a special way that I will always remember and appreciate. Brother Raymond was a special man and friend and will truly be missed. I remember him singing "What a Day That Will Be" and now he is able to "look upon His face."

August 24, 2015 6:20 PM

It was a bitter sweet message upon hearing that Bro. Raymond had passed. It was bitter in knowing that he would be with us anymore. He had touched my life and left a life time memory. While I was in full time evangelistic work, I came to Crestview for the purpose of developing a County Wide Crusade. I went to First Baptist and asked the Secretary who was the most influencing Preacher in Crestview. She told me Bro. Williams. I contacted Bro. Williams and stated to him my intentions of developing a County Crusade. He agreed with me and also agreed to serve as Chairman of the Crusade.
A few years later, I had the privilege and honor to go with him to the Holy Land. A trip that enriched my life.
Shortly after that, I invited him to come and conduct revival services at Longview Baptist Church, Franklin, NC. The people just fell in love with him. This is the ONLY church of my ministry where the people would come a hour or more to get a front seat. The greatest revival I have witness in my ministry. As a result of this revival, the members of Longview Baptist Church requested that he come back and hold a week long Crusade in Macon County. It was such a successful crusade that the people of Franklin, NC are still talking about it, thirty-three (33) years later. What a testimony!
Mrs. Williams, I know what it is to lose a loved who has stood by my side during all of my ministry. I want to praise you for your support in Bro. Williams ministry. A Pastor takes a lot of abuse in the ministry and they can't lash back. It is that faithful wife who encourages him and lift him up in prayer. Thank you for being that special person in his life.
I would be there Wednesday, however, due to a doctor's appointment at 2:00. I am not able to attend. You and your family is in my prayers. I love you in Christ and ask that the Holy Spirit comfort you and yours during this period of time. Bro. Johnson

I can see him whistling down the streets of glory whole and happy. We will see them one sweet day. Take courage and lean on Jesus. Love in Christ, Pat Ates

Margret as you know we all loved Raymond, in all my years of sitting in Caney Creek Baptist Church he could make me sit up and take notice. He was a God's send to so many people. He preached my dad's and mom's funeral (Wilmer and Birthel Wilkerson) and they also loved him he will be missed not only by his congregation but the many people that he has touched in his life. We love you and if we can do anything for you please let us know.
