Donald "Don" Eugene Smith

Donald E. “Don” Smith, age 80, of Crestview, passed away Saturday afternoon, September 10, 2016, in Fort Walton Beach, after a tough fight against cancer. He was born May 17, 1936 in Cloquet, Minnesota, to the late Walter and Ann (Sheehy) Smith. Don served his country in the United State Air Force, retiring after 22 years. He is survived by his wife, Debbie; children, Rhea Smith, of Michigan, Michael P. Smith, of Hawaii and Karen Jones (husband, Jeff Allen), of Tennessee; a sister, Patricia Nelson, of Minnesota; grandchildren, Michelle Sinkey, of Michigan, Ryan Jones (wife, Ashley) of Tennessee and Kristin Wall (husband, Lucas), of Tennessee; great grandchildren, Jayden Fater, of Michigan and Grayton Jones, of Tennessee; nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. A Memorial Service celebrating Don’s life will be held at 4 PM Monday, September 12, 2016, at the Crestview Elks Lodge 2624, located at 127 West Pine Ave., Crestview, FL 32536. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to your favorite charity in Don’s memory. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.
